• 2- The outdoor unit is battery-powered and supports solar charging, so no electrical wiring is required during installation. Furthermore, the outdoor unit connects to the indoor touchscreen via Wi-Fi, and no internet wiring is required between the two devices. However, wiring is required to connect the outdoor unit for gate/door control, and users also need to use a power cable to connect the indoor monitor to power.
• 3- The outdoor unit only supports solar charging and is compatible with the included solar panel. The indoor monitor must be connected to power. The inclusion of the supporting solar panel in the EP7 kit is intended to provide an additional power source for the main device, helping to extend the doorbell's battery life to reduce the frequency of recharging. Please note that the solar panel is not the primary or sole option for powering your EP7 doorbell, as its charging efficiency depends heavily on sun exposure (which can be significantly affected by the location and orientation of the solar panel and whether other objects in the area block sunlight) and the frequency of opening activities (controlled door opening). If the solar panel cannot keep the EP7 powered, you can simply remove the battery from the outdoor unit by unscrewing the battery cover and charging the battery indoors without moving the main device itself.
• 4- Only the outdoor unit and solar panel are weatherproof. The touchscreen must be installed indoors.
• 5- Users can customize the ringtone sent by the indoor monitor through touch controls or via the EZVIZ app. The outdoor doorbell only provides one default ringtone and cannot be customized.
• 6- Cloud storage service is only available in certain markets.
• 7- The maximum transmission distance supported by Wi-Fi Halow™️ between the indoor monitor and the outdoor doorbell may vary due to various factors, including the number and thickness of intervening walls, obstacles within the transmission space, weather conditions, and others. A maximum transmission distance of 400 meters was tested in an open environment without the aforementioned influencing factors. For example, the transmission distance is greatly affected by the number of walls in the environment: 110m with one wall between them, 75m with two walls, and 65m with 3 walls (numbers are based on the thickness of each wall at approximately 30cm to 40cm, measured in a straight line between the two devices). Humid weather conditions or obstacles such as trees along the transmission path can also affect Wi-Fi Halow™️ performance. It is recommended not to install devices on a metal surface, as metals can significantly affect transmission performance, which is also why the door intercom is equipped with a plastic casing.
